1989 Honda Civic Si Test Drive
New in 1988, the Civics set the standard for their class. Good looking, well built quick and economical, each Civic stood out. The changes for 1989 were of the negligible kind, things like a rear window defroster on some models. But, now you could get an automatic transmission on the 4-wheel drive wagon and the 108 hp CRX engine in the new Civic Si hatchback, in essence a CRX with a back seat.
