1992 Lexus SC Manufacturer Promo
Lexus’s rear drive SC400 coupe was a mechanical cousin to the big LS400 sedan. It went on sale in June 1991, with a 250 hp twin cam 4.0 liter V8. Joining later was the SC300, the same 2+2 package with fewer standard features, slightly different front-end styling, no rear spoiler, a 3.0 liter inline six and around 200 horsepower, and standard 5-speed manual transmission. Styled at Toyota’s California design center, the SCs were 5.6 inches shorter, 1.2 inches narrower, and 2.7 inches lower than the LS400 on a 4.9 inch shorter wheelbase; also 185 pound lighter.
