11995 Toyota Tercel Test Drive
The former champions of “good, cheap cars” fell victim to their own financial prowess, and on the list of economical cars the little marvels from Toyota City had been forced to give way to Michigan Natives.
In the previous iteration , the Tercel remained an example of sturdy construction and reliability, but its price threatened to encourage potential buyers to look at larger cars including Chevy’s Cavalier, for example. At the same price the Chev offered more space, more complete equipment, dual air bags and ABS brakes – all standard equipment. There was nothing of the sort in the poor little Tercel, of course.
