Which cars were the fastest in America? Join Road & Track and the 1961 Drivers World champion Phil Hill for a day filled with red hot acceleration, white lightning and blue streaks as ten All-American muscle cars rev up to see who will out gun the rest! Five of the cars-the Chevrolet Camaro Z28 and the Corvette, the Dodge Viper, the Ford Mustang GT and Pontiac Trans Am are the stock versions, straight from Detroit. The remaining five were modified versions of the same cars. Which car was the fastest? Come along for the ride and see for yourself!

  1. Tom says:

    This isn’t 1996. It’s 1995.
1995 was the last year of the Corvette ZR1, and the last year of the 302 4.9L V8 in the Ford Mustang GT.
