1997 Infiniti QX4 Test Drive

The Pathfinder based QX4 went on sale late 1996, boasting unique styling, luxurious seats and an advanced AWD system similar to that of the Skyline GTR in Japan. In this transparent system, a wet center clutch automatically apportioned power to the front wheels when the rears were slipping, greatly aiding the QX4’s stability on slippery surfaces. A leather interior was standard on the unit-body QX4, as are 16-in alloy wheels, foglights, body color running boards, a keyless remote entry system and a 6-speaker Bose stereo with an indash CD player.
