2001 General Motors Concept Cars

It is nothing new: Show a lightly disguised future production car as a “concept” to get early reaction from the media and public.  While Chrysler did it successfully for years, GM and others followed suit.  The General’s 2001 auto show cars, for example, debuted at LA, Detroit, Chicago, New York, and overseas venues, hint at the direction each division was headed.
