2002 Saab 9-5 Aero Test Drive
The ignition switch may still have been on the floor, but the Swedish brand was redoubling its focus on near luxury with a retooled 9-5. For 2002, the top Saab got updated front and rear styling, new clear lens Xenon headlamps, a lower, broader stance, and an interior awash in soft Scandinavian leather. A revamped lineup included the base Linear 2.3t, mid level Arc 3.6 V6, and topline 250hp Aero 2.3 HOT. Larger brakes and stiffer anti-roll bars and springs added to the fun, while a five speed automatic gearbox, dual stage front airbags, rain sense wipers, and standard stability control enhanced the package.
