Never mind that surf music in 1977 served as a mocking reminder of how much cynicism, diminishing expectations, and napalm had flowed since the early 1960s, because the new Olds Cutlass Supreme 442 changed everything! There’s no need to discuss the horsepower numbers of the Malaise-grade Buick V6, the 260 Olds V8, or the 305 Chevy V8 that you could buy back in ’77; let’s just say that the 1970 442 was a bit quicker and leave it at that.
