1978 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham Test Drive

Still unabashedly full-size, the New Yorker Brougham 4 door hardtop and it’s two door mate, each riding a lengthy 123.9 inch wheelbase, went on sale for the last time. So did Chrysler’s 400 and 440 cubic inch displacement of V8 engines.

Topping Chrysler 1978 lineup was the $7,702 New Yorker Brougham Coupe and a companion $7,831 hardtop sedan. Both still looked much like the 1975 Imperials they replaced, but sales fell 41% from 1977, to 44559 units.
