01978: Chrysler’s Hot Gas Turbine. The Seventh Generation Lives!
Chrysler, which didn’t like to copy, or take a lead from GM or Ford, continued to march down its own path toward the development of alternate power plants. The corporation showed its seventh-generation turbine-powered concept car, which was based on the LeBaron. Features included a soft plastic front end, retractable headlamp doors, and T-bar roof. Expected production was hoped for in the late 1980s, if at all.
