1994 Chrysler Lebaron GTC Test Drive
Using a one-model strategy, Chrysler hoped to capture prospective convertible buyers with its 1994 LBaron ragtop. The coupe body style was no more, and every convertible was equipped with the formerly topline GTC trim. Also abandoned was the previous four-cylinder base engine, which left the superior 3.0-lityer V-6 (141 horsepower) as the lone powerplant; a refined four-speed electronic transmission was added for improvised smoothness. Increased structural rigidity and a passenger-side airbag helped make the open-air Lebaron better than ever. The top was power operated and included a glass rear window.
