21979: Electric Limousine?
Manufactured by the Electric Auto Corporation, Troy, Michigan, this super-luxury limousine incorporated all of the features of its original Cadillac base.
With a top speed of 70-mph and a cruising range of 120 miles at 30 mph, it had an on-board auxiliary engine for recharging batteries and running the accessories and air conditioning. There was also provisions for recharging from an outside electrical power source. There was no firm price on this but estimates placed it just under $20,000.
Interesting concept. It really is. It is funny how we have things like this now. It seems this was innovative for its time.
Heck yeah. When i read about the generator, i immediately thought of my Chevy Volt!
