31980 Buick Skylark Manufacturer Promo
The all-new 1980 Buick Skylark was designed and engineered from the ground up for efficient use of materials, space, and energy while providing the convenience and comfort traditionally associated with the name “Buick.”
For the first time, the Skylark had front-wheel-drive with the engine mounted transversely. This configuration permitted efficient use of available passenger compartment space.
On the inside where you want it, the all-new Skylark was actually roomier than its 1979 counterpart, although it was now mounted on a 104.9-inch wheelbase rather than the 111 inch wheelbase used previously. Front leg and hip room were increased and front head and shoulder room were only slightly reduced. In the rear seat, the head, leg and hip room were slightly increased while there was a small decrease in shoulder room.
Buick’s 1980 Skylark offered two and four door notch-backs in base and luxury Limited trim. The Sport coupe and sedan, boasted black exterior trim, a handling suspension , and other driving oriented touches. Skylark base prices ranged form $5342 to $6102 with the standard 151-cid four cylinder.
