BMW’s popular 320i was destined for all-new sheet metal and a 4-door version for 1982. The new design would feature more of a wedge shape profile along with a high trunk line, more raked windshield and lower hood for aerodynamic improvements. European buyers would be able to choose from a variety of 4 and 6-cylinder engines, and there was a strong possibility of a turbocharged diesel engine. While the look is more 323 than E30, it’s a treat to see artists renditions of their idea of the future, from the past.
