1982 Toyota Starlet Test Drive
Though not a new car in Toyota’s world market, the Starlet was new to the US in 1981. It was offered only as a 3-door liftback with a 52 horsepower, 1.3 liter and a 5-speed overdrive transmission. The Starlet employed a conventional front engine, rear dire chassis and was positioned just above the Tercel in appointments and price.
