01984 Buick Features and Technology
Under the leadership of Lloyd Reuss, the Buick division was building the most technologically advanced and perhaps best looking cars of any in the GM stable for 1984. Despite the claims made by Cadillac, Buick seemed to be GM’s electronic techno-wizardry leader, as evidenced by the sophisticated engine control devices and the distributorless ignition system the division introduced on the 3.0 engine.
Although most of their product line was largely carryover, significant refinements were made. And the T-Types were no exception, from the baby Skyhawk, and Skylark, to the Century, Riviera and big daddy Regal, these sporty top line models of each respective line were truly special, and true techno wizards for their day. They may not for everyone, but they are for the few who understand, and that holds true today.
