1984 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Test Drive
Chevy kept its full-size car prices in check for 1984 and was rewarded with healthy sales. A full-size coupe returned after a one-year absence, though not in the Impala line, as might have been expected, but in uplevel caprice trim. Only Caprice offered a people hauler, the Caprice Classic wagon, which came with a single engine, the 150-horsepower 305-cid V-8. Wire wheels were a $159 option, and the roof rack added another $110.
