01984 Ford EXP Turbo Test Drive
To put it bluntly, the original EXP was a sporty idea whose execution didn’t deliver. So the next trend was to make it more eye appealing, more fleet of foot , more exciting all around. The EXP Turbo was a huge step in that direction. At first glance, it’s obvious someone was messing around with the merchandise. The tinted glass, alloy wheels, low profile tires, and blackout trim are your first clues. The EXP Turbo came standard with most of the amenities available for the model. The 1984 version had the bubble back rear glass borrowed from its deceased cousin, the Mercury LN7, front air dam, rear spoiler, blackout rocker panels, sport mirrors, and upgraded wheels and tires. In total it gave a little zipper appearance to complement what was hiding under the hood.
