1984 Volkswagen Jetta Test Drive

Nothing much had changed on the outside. It had basically the same exterior as before, with an angled hood and square headlights The interesting things happened in the engine bay, with an available 68-hp turbocharged diesel engine alongside the gas engines, bundling fun to drive and function in a single vehicle. A straight-up economy sedan aimed at first-timers or families on a budget, the 1984 Jetta didn’t pretend to be anything but functional in its looks and relatively upscale with its rich interior features, like fabric door inserts matching the firm contoured seats that offered good support, and even the same padded four-spoke steering wheel as the sporty GTI Rabbit.
