The Cadillac division wouldn’t launch its new Eldorado and Seville until mid-November 1985, but the car’s features weren’t dramatically different from those of the new Toronado and Riviera.  A major difference in the Cadillacs was their use of the division’s aluminum 4.1-liter V-8 in lieu of its cousins 3.8-liter V-6.

Cadillac dropped the Eldorado Touring Coupe for 1986 (would be resurrected later), but now offered a new Touring coupe and Touring sedan based on the front-drive DeVille.  The packe included larger Goodyear Eagle GTs on 15-inch alloy wheels, higher front and rear spring rates and strut valving, a rear anti-roll bar and faster steering ratio.  In addition, electronic anti-lock brakes were offered on DeVille and Fleetwood; Eldorado adn Seville wouldn’t get theirs until 1987.
