The new for 1986 944 Turbo was priced at $29,500 for a special stripped down model for Showroom Stock racing. The one you wanted cost around $34,000 or so. If you could afford the tab, you went for it. The 944 Turbo was sure to be one of the Great Cars, well balanced, fun and wickedly fast for the time. Porsche was no doubt in the happy position of having year long waiting lines for the 944 Turbo. It was worth the wait.
