1987: A new Sportster spied
Running with its hard top option and a false nose extension between the headlights, this Merc was caught winter testing in Germany in 1987, two years prior to the release. Rumored to be powered by a 24 valve 5.6 liter V8 the new ‘560SL’ made its debut at the Frankfurt show under the 500SL nomenclature.
