1987: Chevy’s S-10 High School Graduation Package
Chevrolet used the direct approach to adding high-tech to one S-10 trucklette: a racy Suzuki GSX-R750 motorcycle was simply rolled into the bed and strapped into place. Special Projects, the Livonia Michigan, company that fulfilled Chevy’s fantasy, also outfitted the rig with Camaro IROC wheels and tires, six equipment bins, a loading ramp, tie-down rings, and a few nifty exterior-decor items. With creative financing, this could have been the ultimate high-school-graduation splurge.
