1987: Blazer to get more doors
We all know the answer to the question: “will GM add two more passenger doors to the S-model Blazer/Jimmy SUV?” But in 1987, it was valid. Other than the possibility of higher rate suspension tuning to manage the extra weight, sources stated serious mechanical changes were not expected. Sources also reported that the 3.1 liter V6 was a possibility, and shift-on-the-fly 4wd engagement would carry over to the new truck.
