91989 Buick Performance Preview
When Buick discontinued its powerful rear drive Regal based Grand Nationals in the late 80s, some thought the performance Buick was on the skids. However It looks like behind the scenes, Buick was in fact working on re-introducing forceful force fed Buick’s. Whether supercharging or turbocharging, GM was applying its previous turbo knowledge, to a modern front drive platform. As seen in the video, some of the tech made it to production, albeit not in the platforms shown here! Take a look back at what GM was working on!
A turbo Reatta would’ve been fantastic!
hell yeah! The development of it could have been pretty sweet!
It really was a shame this project didn’t get off the ground w/ these models. You know, as I said on GMI, it could’ve started w/ the Lesabre GN had it received a turbo (a Buick NO ONE knows about!), granted its weight. Food for thought!
Wouldn’t that have been glorious?
I LIKE 1990-93 BUICK REGAL GS TURBO V6
it was a cool look back!
Wow, the Park Avenue show car looked awesome!
