31989 Buick Riviera Preview & Test Drive
American luxury cars, especially of yore, have often been described as boats. Quite fitting in the Riviera’s case, but perhaps in this instance due to it’s size, more of a dinghy? Even with it’s smaller dimensions, the typical Buick still floats like a larger vessel. Touting a distinctive new look, that added 11 inches to the length versus its previous design, primarily in the front and rear overhangs and not to the actual wheelbase. This seemed to be a trend with General motors ‘redesigns’, but did lend to an altogether fresher look.
