1989 Chevrolet Camaro Manufacturer Promo
Two Camaro models were available in 1989, the RS and the IROC-Z, in both coupe and convertible configuration. The RS got ex-Z28 appearance with a 2.8-liter V6, multi-port fuel-injected performance, body colored lower aero panels, dual sport mirrors, and cast aluminum wheels and specific spoiler, to create a persona of its own. A 5.0-liter was optional. IROC got the TBI 5.0-liter; then the TPI 5.0-liter with stick or automatic. Finally, the IRC 5.7-liter howitzer, with a clutchless transmission. All 1989 Camaros featured the ‘Pass Key’ theft deterrent system that significantly reduced thefts of Corvettes in the previous three years.
