1990 Chrysler Fifth Avenue vs. Buick Park Avenue Manufacturer Promo
Like two other new Chrysler nameplates, the New Yorker Fifth Avenue and the Salon, the Imperial rode on a front-wheel-drive New Yorker/Dodge Dynasty chassis. the wheelbase for the Fifth Avenue and the Imperials was 109.3, 5 inches longer than the basic New Yorker platform, but the Imperial’s overall length of 203.0 inches made it the biggest in the fleet, by 4.4 inches.
This dimension was roughly comparable to the Lincoln Continental, as was the curb weight. The presentation was typical of Chrysler formal sedans, angular and chrome frosted, with the familiar waterfall grille and vinyl half-roof. Aimed at the perceived gap between the Imperial and the standard New Yorker, the Fifth Avenue was a trifle shorter than the flagship but offered virtually identical interior dimensions as well as the new 3.3 mated to a 4-speed automatic.
Thank you for sharing. Chrysler was really taking shots at GM. Interesting video.
