21991 Chrysler LeBaron Sedan Manufacturer Promo
The roads today are full of cars that scream for attention. Some sail down the interstate with massive air dams an inch from the pavement. Others dazzle you with exotic nameplates and acres of chrome. If you’re not looking for a car that shouts for attention, you’d find a lot to like about the Chrysler LeBaron Sedan in 1991. It was relatively quick, definitely comfortable and its traditional styling offered an alternative to the aero look that was a new trend then. The LeBaron was also unusually roomy for a midsize car, thanks to some sleight of hand by the stylists at Chrysler, the Lebaron Sedan could carry six passengers and their luggage with room to spare. The key is the car’s basic shape. when they designed the A-car, the platform upon which the LeBaron was based, Chrysler stylists didn’t try to imitate a sporty cars, or a jellybean. They also avoided the common mistake of simply scaling down an existing car. Rather, they started with a box big enough to carry six people in relative comfort, added enough hood to cover the V6 and finished it off with a trunk large enough for a weeks luggage. When they were satisfied with the basic shape, they rounded off the corners. The resulting sedan was just a couple of inches shorter than a Honda Accord and nearly half a foot shorter than the Ford Taurus.
I don’t think that I knew that a LeBaron sedan ever existed! Appears to have been a very roomy and luxurious car for the era.
