When the all-new Mitsubishi Galant bowed in mid-1992, its styling borrowed heavily from Mitsubishi’s flagship, the Diamante. The body was more rounded and slightly more wedge-like than previous editions. Wheelbase and overall length grew, but the roof was shorter in height. Power came from a 2.0-liter four and a 2.5-liter V6. The platform would be lent to the next-generation Eclipse/Talon, and Chrysler Lebaron replacement Sebring and Dodge Avenger.
