01991 Nissan NX2000 Test Drive
New for 1991, Nissan introduced a replacement for its entry-level Pulsar Sport coupe, calling it the NX. The NX2000 was the quickest version of this new car, powered by the same 2.0 liter twin-cam engine that you found in the Infiniti G20 and Nissan Sentra SE-R. The NX2000 was faster than Honda’s CRX SI, Volkswagen Corrado, and Geo Storm GSI. But you got more than speed from the small coupe. It was balanced, easy to drive, and well-built.
