The front-drive Park Avenue and Ultra looked the same but had a new variable effort power steering system as standard and traction control as a new option.  Other new features included a power window lockout switch, dual cup holders in the front center armrest, and for Ultra, new rear-seat heat/vent controls.
The tires included with the optional Gran Touring Package  were 215/60R16 Goodyear Eagle GA’s.  They replaced 215/65R15 Eagle GT+4s.

A 205-horsepower 3.8-liter V-6 was standard for 1992 on the Park Avenue Ultra, Buick’s top-shelf sedan.  Buick said the supercharged engine helped Ultra reach 60 mph in 8.7 seconds, nearly two seconds faster than the 1991 Ultra.  The base Park Avenue returned with  the 170-horsepower 3.8-liter V-6 Both engines ran on regular unleaded gasoline.
