1992 Porsche 968 Test Drive
“It’s the product not of change, but of continuity; the product of the knowledge of a very special family.” Though a quote from a Cognac advertisement, it accurately described the Porsche 968. The evolution of a platform that debuted in 1976, the 968 had more power, a choice of two new transmissions, standard dual airbags, and an increased Porsche family resemblance. However, only about 40 percent of its parts were all new, though an equal number were significantly improved, over those in the 944 it replaced.
