Like Chrysler’s Concorde, the 1993 Intrepid used the company’s new “LH” platform and boasted similarly sleek “cab forward” sedan styling. But it came with fewer standard frills and lower prices that began near $16,000 for the base model. A sportier, up-level ES started at $17,289. Larger tires on alloy wheels marked the 1993 Intrepid ES, which also came with all-disc brakes. Anti-lock brakes were optional on both base and ES models. Power was your choice of 3.3 OHV or 3.5 twin-cam V-6, each pulling with a four speed automatic. A healthy 81,000 Intrepids were sold in its first model year.
