1994 Buick Roadmaster LT1 Test Drive

Buick’s lineup was reduced by one model for 1994, as the Riviera was put on hiatus. Nonetheless, the giant Roadmaster remained ensconced as the car maker’s grand tribute to traditional American motoring values. A redesigned instrument panel brought improved style and function, plus a standard passenger-side airbag. The outward appearance of the big rear-drive sedan was essentially unchanged, but under the hood there was plenty to take notice of. The previous 5.7-liter V-8 (180-horsepower) was replaced with a version of the efficient LT1 V-8 (260 horsepower) for greatly improved load-carrying performance.
