1994 Pontiac Firebird Firehawk Test Drive

Ed Hamburger, the chief cook and bottle washer at SLP, was back with another hot Firebird. 1993’s run of 250 Firehawks sold out in a flash, so the conversion line was programmed to preen the feathers of twice as many birds for 1994. Like ’93, the core automobile was a Firebird Formula, with the customers choice of six speed-manual or four-speed automatic transmissions.
To that SLP adds:
-
Twin Nostril fiberglass hood
-
Five-spoke ROH aluminum wheels
-
275/40ZR17 Firestone Firehawk SZ radials
-
Twin Stainless Steel exhaust tips
-
Four flashy Firehawk stickers
-
A serialized ID plate pop riveted to the shift console
Two items that were new for 1994, a suspension package and a less restrictive exhaust system.
