1994 Porsche 911 Speedster Test Drive

The Speedster continues for those who lust after the ultimate in Porsche Style. While the biggest news for Porsche in 1994 was the high performance Porsche the company had ever offed in the US market. The 911 Turbo 3.6. Also new on the agenda was the Carrera 4 and Speedster. Speedster models arrived in the past as a special edition here and there. This time it was more of a full fledged member of the Porsche 911 family, and was more or less a simplified convertible It received the same drivetrain as the Carrera 2. It’s more top down oriented than the Cabriolet models, with a hand operated top that’s covered by a hard composite cover. This cover had two humps that seem to serve as backups to the seat backs. The windshield was lowered for a sleeker appearance.
