11995 Buick Riviera Test Drive
Buick didn’t bother with a 1994 Riviera, choosing to sell a larger, all-new 1995 from mid-1994. Though sharing and all new e-body with Oldsmobiles much-publicized new Aurora sedan, the latest Riviera retain its traditional coupe configuration, plus Buick V6’s in regular and supercharged form with 205 and 225 horses, respectively. Base price was $28,257, the blown engine and larger 16 inch wheels and tires added $1,100.
Buick stylists aimed at a certain visual ‘tension’ in the 1995 Riviera, and achieved it via unusual ‘faultline’ front fenders flowing to a tapered, elliptical tail. Note the standard multi-spoke alloy wheels.
