1996 Mazda MPV Test Drive

The minian category was flourishing.  Demand was stronger than ever, and new models were many. It was time for Mazda to update its compact minivan with the first major changes sine it launched in 1989.

The modifications made to this minivan were relatively modest in scope.  Was it for lack of financial means or simply because Mazda was convinced that it had all the answers already? Mazda described the changes as major, but in truth this was more a matter of a simple update.  Take the body, for example: it had a lot of touch ups , but the overall look was the same.  It was freshened a little and you admittedly visually, Mazda’s first mini-van remained in fashion.
