In place of the previous Lumina APV Minivan, Chevrolet offered the Venture, a brand-new family hauler that was packed with features and utility.  The Venture was skinned with sheetmetal, not plastic, and the new contours were more conventional and appealing than those of its predecessor.  It came in two wheelbases the longer of the two sorted interior room comparable to that of the Dodge Grand Caravan.  A left-side sliding door was available on the LS extended model,  and a motorized right-side slider was optional on all models. Split folding bench seats in the center and rear rows were standard, or you could ot for individual removable buckets.  The powerful standard 3.4-liter V-6 engine was carried over.
