11997 Ford Expedition vs GMC Yukon Comparison Test Drive
These days sport-utility-vehicles are enjoying growing popularity while passenger cars go through market lows. And the public’s keen interest in four wheel drive vehicles doesn’t necessarily mean that there’s been a spectacular rise in off-road driving. In fact, based on figures supplied by General motors, in 1996 98 percent of consumers who bought 4×4’s used them only for regular driving. People choose this kind of vehicle to handle driving made difficult by rainy or snowy conditions. Icy roads, steep hills, and dirt roads were also on the list of “difficult conditions” mentioned by buyers as reasons to opt for a sport ute. Off-road outings and expeditions into the deep, dark forest were reserved for an extremely small minority.
