1998 Audi A4 Avant Test Drive

For the 1998 model year, the next expansion to the A4 came at both ends of the car. At the rear, there was the addition of the Avant wagon, a configuration that was already on sale in Europe at the time. The new wagon had all the features of the sedan. At the front of the car, a new engine finally arrived. The somewhat weak V6 was replaced by a 5-valve type with much higher output. Other standard items featured in the wagon included Porsche’s Tioptronic 5-speed automatic transmission and front side airbags.
