21998 Dodge Ram Sport Quad Cab Test Drive
First Chevrolet showed a 3-door pickup truck, then Ford announced it would be standard on its extended cab F-150 for 1997. Meanwhile, Dodge kept quiet. but just as this was the company that brought out the first minivan with dual sliding doors, it looked to be the first out the chute with a 4-door extended cab pickup. This differed from the typical crew cab pickup that had four car type doors. This would be the same size as their extended cab, but with an extra forward facing door on either side. Just like Chevy and ford provide easy access on the passenger side, Dodge did it for both sides.
