To keep pace with a fast changing minivan marketplace, Ford put a new face on its family-size Windstar. Besides a new fascia and grille, the front-drive Windstar had fresh headlamps, new body side moldings, and new wheels. The LX and Limited got color keyed door handles, and the Limited had color keyed mirrors, too. A Family Security package included traction control, self-sealing tires, remote keyless entry, adn a security package. The Windstar’s 3.0-liter/150-horsepower V-6 was the basic offering, and a strong 3.8-liter/200-horsepower V-6 was the motive force behind highline models. No left-side slider was available, so the Windstar had an extended driver-side door and a tip/slide seat to ease rear seat access.
