1998 Isuzu Rodeo Test Drive
For the first time since it debuted as a 1991 model, Isuzu’s Rodeo SUV underwent a ground up rework. Like its mechanical twin the Honda Passport, just about every system on the Rodeo was improved. There were two new engines to choose from the basic 2.2 DOHC inline four that made more power out of less displacement than its predecessor. The 3.2L hp V6 upgraded engine held a hp edge over the unit it replaced. The new body’s aerodynamic lines enclosed a bigger passenger compartment that was also significantly quieter, while ride and handling were improved.
