2000 Ford Excursion Test Drive
In the battle for the biggest, baddest sport/ute, the torch was passed to Ford with the release of the 2000 Excursion. Compared with the Chevrolet Suburban, the Excursion was 7.2 inches longer, 3.3 inches wider, and between 4.3 and 5.8 inches taller. After securing up to nine adults comfortably, the Excursion still had 48 cubic feet of cargo room left. built on the Super Duty pickup platform, it came with a standard 5.4-liter/255-horsepower V8 and offered an optional 6.8-liter/310-horsepower V-10. Four-wheel drive was available as were luxury extras like a CD player and heated leather seats.
