2000 Lincoln LS Test Drive

Debuting for 2000, along with its platform partner the Jaguar S-type, the Lincoln LS-series was a new luxury sport sedan for folks who previously wouldn’t venture into a Lincoln dealer even on a bet. This fresh rear drive design melded clean exterior lines with a well appointed interior.  buyers had a choice of two spirited engines: the LS6’s 3.0 liter/210 horsepower V6 was married to an optional five speed manual transmission or standard five speed automatic.  The up level LS8’s 3.9 liter /252 horsepower V8 came with a five speed automatic with SelectShift function.  Both versions of the ls series had standard traction control and front seat side airbags.

I ALMOST bought one of these. I bought a Grand Marquis LS instead. I like the size and ride of the Grand Marq even though the LS handles better and is quicker in V8 form.

    I own a 04 V8 LS
