02000 Nissan Maxima SE Test Drive
Updated for the new millenium, Nissan’s revamped flagship Maxima sedan figured prominently on sedan buyers’ shopping lists. Fresh styling outside, and a handsomely integrated design inside were just teasers of what the new Maxima had to offer. A new air intake system boosted all variations to 222 horsepower and increased torque by 12 pound-feet. Nissan labeled the new Maxima as a 60-60 percent blend of performance and luxury, a boast well supported by the expectation-exceeding nature of the car. Along with the newfound power, the Maxima had more standard features, like ABS and remote keyless entry at a price that was lower than that of the 1999 models.
