With a newly engineered sport oriented chassis, Saab’s 9-5 Aero combined sleek looks with entertaining performance. With a 2.3 liter /230 horsepower turbocharged inline four engine, the Aero featured 17-inch alloy wheels, flared rocker panels, more powerful brakes, and a lower, stiffer suspension. Non-Aero 9-5 sedans and wagons featured a 2.3 liter 170 horse turbo four as standard and an optional 3.0 V6. Saab added new amenities to its standard equipment list for 2000. A sunroof and Saab Traction Control System became standard. Premium Package upgrades included leather interior, premium audio system, and driver side memory seat function.
