Bigger is better, or so the thinking goes, especially with the Grand Vitara XL-7. Based on the four-door V-6 powered Grand VItara, the XL-7 added a longer wheelbase, more seating capacity, and a larger, more powerful V-6. Manual or automatic transmissions delivered power to either a RWD or 4WD system. Inside, even base-model XL-7s came with snug but usable third-row split seating that folded to offer cargo and passenger-carrying options. Getting in was easy, thanks to extra-wide rear doors. Even in base trim, both Grand Vitaras had most of the power amenities consumers wanted.
